We organize an annual protest hike against the World Economic Forum. The next protest hike will take place on January 16 and 17, 2027.

What is the World Economic Forum?
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an annual gathering of representatives of the global elite. Leaders from politics, business, the media, civil society, lobbying organizations, and public life come together in Davos in January for a five-day conference accompanied by strict military security measures. The WEF presents itself as a global, independent, and non-profit platform that promotes respectful dialogue among decision-makers with different beliefs and perspectives, thereby claiming to contribute to improving the state of the world.
We say bullshit!
The WEF is anything but neutral. It was founded over 50 years ago by Klaus Schwab—who has since fallen from grace—and from the very beginning, its goal has been to bring neoliberalism, a modern form of capitalism, from the U.S. to Europe. Neoliberalism is based on the belief that the “free market”—which really means large corporations—is more important than the well-being of society. The goal: the highest possible profits for corporations and the extremely wealthy. For everyone else, all that remains is what supposedly “trickles down from the top.”
The last 50 years have shown who this ideology serves:
The number of billionaires and their wealth has risen, while the poor have become poorer. Growing social inequality: Wealth and power are increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few, while large segments of the world’s population face growing social and economic inequalities. The breakdown of community structures and the rise of far-right movements are directly linked to this development. The increasing exploitation of the Earth and the unchecked expansion of global corporations have driven emissions sky-high, while biodiversity has declined by 73% worldwide.
Neoliberalism not only exacerbates these crises—it poses a serious threat to the future of humanity. The World Economic Forum contributes to the stabilization of existing power and economic structures rather than providing effective responses to global crises.
All Against Militarism
War always means: working class against working class. While political and economic elites make decisions from a safe distance, people and the environment pay the price. We reject this. The military is incompatible with ethical and ecological principles. Peace to the huts—war to the palaces.
Switzerland, too, is less neutral and peaceful than it portrays itself to be. The army increasingly serves as an expensive job-creation measure—for example, in protecting global elites at the WEF—while armed operations have historically been directed against its own population. Nevertheless, military spending is set to rise dramatically—despite scandals, misguided investments, and a lack of democratic transparency.
Yet the arms industry accounts for only a tiny fraction of the Swiss economy. At the same time, Swiss corporations profit from the trade in raw materials, arms exports, and global conflicts. The military and wars destroy habitats and fuel the climate crisis without appearing in emissions accounts.
We demand systemic change: billions for climate protection, social justice, and global solidarity—not for military buildup.
Protesting in Davos means striking at the symbolic heart of neoliberalism.
Strike WEF is a two-day protest march that brings together hundreds of people from across Switzerland, Germany, Europe, and indigenous communities in Peru. The event took place for the first time in 2020 and represents a long tradition of resistance against capitalist structures.
The core goals of the protest are:
To create a platform for various organizations and individuals to network and further intensify the fight against neoliberalism.
To amplify the voices that the WEF systematically tries to exclude—and to bring those voices directly to Davos.
To send a strong message in support of global human rights and the protection of our environment.
